Does my music still come out of my headphones?
Yes, exactly as before. MicWith takes a copy of what is playing rather than standing in the path, so your output device, your volume keys and your own listening are untouched.
Do I have to change the speaker setting in Zoom?
No. Earlier approaches to this problem required it; MicWith does not. Set the microphone to MicWith Broadcast and leave everything else alone.
Which microphone should I pick?
The built-in microphone on your Mac is usually best. Avoid a Bluetooth headset's microphone: macOS drops the whole connection into phone-call quality when it is in use, and the music suffers with it. Wired headphones or AirPods for listening are fine.
The class says the music is too loud.
Move the system slider down. It changes only what the meeting hears, so your own level stays where you like it. The reverse also works: raise the microphone slider if your voice is being covered.
Why does the meeting sound like it is echoing?
If you are on speakers, your microphone is picking the music back up. Turn on speaker echo removal. On headphones this does not happen and the switch should stay off.
Does MicWith need an account or send my audio anywhere?
No account, and no audio. Everything is mixed on your Mac. The only thing MicWith sends over the network is your licence key, to confirm it is valid.
What happens when I quit?
The broadcast stops and your Mac returns to normal. MicWith never took over your output device, so there is nothing to restore and nothing left behind.
